Joy of Sets Challenge – #jos007

Hello to you all and a warm welcome to our latest challenge from the Design Team over at

The Joy of Sets

The challenge for the next two weeks is the letter

As usual you can make something using a Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! which has the letter ‘W’ in the title. It can be retired or current, your choice.

This is my make and I have used – Wood Words. At first glance it may not appeal as it has solid stamps depicting a Rooster, Moon, Star and Heart. However it does have a beautiful flower display and small sentiments.

I started out using a 6″ x 3.75″ card blank using Wisteria Wonder.

To this I added a now retired piece of DSP in matching Wisteria Wonder down the middle of the card.

My beautiful flower display has been stamped onto Whisper White Card and coloured using Stampin’ Write Markers in shades of Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder.  I like how using these markers direct onto the stamp give it a subtle look.

Using the Layering Ovals Framelits I cut the stamped image with one of the Scalloped Framelits and backed it onto a larger Oval using Calypso Card Stock.

The tiny sentiment is from the above set, stamped onto Calypso Coral with Wisteria Wonder Ink before using a small scalloped oval to cut it out.

I felt it needed a little something extra at the bottom to balance the card so out came my favourite retired stamp set called Papillion Potpourri. Stamped onto Calypso Coral with Wisteria Wonder Ink, punched out using the Bitty Butterfly Punch, again sadly retired.

For a little sparkle a few Basic Rhinestones have been added.

I hope you will come and join in with us as one lucky person will be chosen to be a Guest Designer in the coming weeks.

Thanks for reading my post and happy crafting.

  1. Thanks Kaye and Fiona. Wisteria Wonder is one of my favourite colours Fiona, but then I am an anything purple shades girl. xx
