Hello everyone, at the time of scheduling this post it is raining here in Leicestershire.
Today sees the latest challenge from us at The Joy of Sets Challenge Blog
I hope you are enjoying joining in with us and loving that you can use new or retired stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! This is a wonderful idea that Fiona started as we all have so many sets we have forgotten about or don’t use.
So what letter do we have for you for the next two weeks. It is the letter ‘J’ and I think you can see by now the reason for the letters, check out the DT names. 🙂
We have a Guest Designer joining us for the next two weeks, the lovely Andrea Parr who is known as
Andrea was the winner of the letter ‘C’ challenge so pop over to her blog above and see her design for the letter ‘J’
For my design I used a retired set called ‘Just Believe’ This is one of the first sets I bought and don’t use it as much as I should. Unfortunately it has been retired for such a long time I can only show it in my photo below.
Again I have used a 6×6 Card for my base having cut up a piece of Whisper White 12×12 Card.
My background paper is from the Fresh Floral DSP and I chose to use Lemon Lime Twist as the background. This is a beautiful set of DSP and both sides have stunning designs so you are spoilt for choice. The DSP come in five different colour ways to match the new In Colours which are Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink and Tranquil Tide. I love them all and Lemon Lime Twist is becoming a favourite of mine.
It was cut slightly smaller than the base card by 1/8 inch. I attached a lovely piece of Sahara Sand Lace Trim underneath my main image.
Square Collection Framelit Dies are used to stamp the image onto. Taking the largest of the images from the set, I coloured using Stampin’ Write Marker Pens in shades of Pear Pizzazz and Watermelon Wonder for the flowers.
This gives a lovely soft effect and makes a change from using Ink Pads.
You ‘scribble’ the markers on your stamp then ‘huff’ on the stamp before stamping to make sure the ink is damp. Don’t you love my word choices?
The sentiments have been stamped using Lemon Lime Twist Ink and the little wooden heart is from the Sending Love Embellishments Pack. Just thought it added a lovely finishing touch.
Basic Pearl Jewels give the flower centre’s a little dimension.
I hope you like my design and look forward to you joining us and sharing your creations. We comment on all entries and one of you will be chosen to be our Guest Designer in the future.
